Mieczyslaw Tomaszewski is a professor of the Academy of Music in Cracow, head of the Department of the Theory and Interpretation of the Musical Work. He represents humanistically orientated musicology.His research deals with the music of the Romantic era, the Romantic-leaning current in contemporary Polish music, the theory of European song and the affinities of the arts.For many years, the phenomenon of the work of Fryderyk Chopin has been at the very heart of his interests.
